Back from our New England Trip! Bracelet & Gift Card to celebrate!
We’ve been home almost a week from our New England trip, and I’m almost in the swing of things! ~ Not quite though ~ I feel like fall should have arrived in Washington state with colder temps and turning leaves, but we’re in the 80s. Hmmm. Wait a sec! I’m sure I’m confused because we were busy touring all of the country roads that NH, VT, NY, and MA had to offer with beautiful old farmhouses and stone churches popping up everywhere. I felt like I was in Sleepy Hollow, and I loved it!
Thankfully, I have the most patient husband as I faithfully gave directions leading us to Concord, Massachusetts (even though we were staying in Concord, New Hampshire) or deciding we should take the ‘scenic route’ to some destination that added another two hours to our journey. Oops! He’s the most awesome travel companion EVER!
A few of the places we got to see were the Louisa May Alcott home, a ghost town in the Adirondacks, Fort Ticonderoga + a corn maze, the witches of Salem, the beauty of Portsmouth, and the Canterbury Shaker Village. I loved the history that we were able to absorb, and I thoroughly appreciated everything we managed to squeeze in.
The one and only thing that was puzzling, since I’m a Seattle girl, was the lack of Starbucks on every corner. I’m so used to getting my Starbucks fix whenever needed that I was stunned to find out that I could drive hours and there wouldn’t be one in sight. It actually made it a fun challenge! Instead of Where’s Waldo it was Where’s the Siren? When it got serious, however, I whipped out my Starbucks app and got the answer. J
We were both ready to come home when the day finally arrived. We missed our English Bulldogs, family, and friends. No matter how nice the vacation, it’s always nice to come home.
I’ve been working away on the Witch Avenue Series and am about to begin figuring out the cover for the third book in the series! I can’t wait to work with Claudia on it. She’s amazing!! That’s always a fun task. I hope to have the cover to unveil at the same time the second book, Altered Souls, is released.
Also, since the contest on my blog is about to end on the 15th of September, I thought I’d post one to get us to October! It’s not very cool of me to talk about a vacay without offering up something kind of neat from it to you guys! Anyone who follows me on Facebook had some chances along the way to win some fun prizes, but I thought I better post one over here too.
When I was in Portsmouth, NH, I got so excited because I found two bracelets that had snakes on them and thought they would be perfect giveaways since that’s kind of a pivotal creature in Lonely Souls! I came rushing out of the store with my find and showed them to my hubby who started grinning his devilish grin right before he pointed out the legs on the bracelets. Apparently, neither are snakes! Oh well! They are still pretty cool bracelets!! I swear!! >>>>>See picture below<<<<<
I’m putting the first one up as a giveaway along with a $10.00 Amazon card, and bookmarks for Witch Avenue Series & Watchers Trilogy. All you have to do is post a comment about your favorite type of sweet treat! Why a sweet treat you ask? Kind of random… It’s because I had a lot of them on our vacation, and I now have to deprive myself for a couple weeks. I need to live vicariously through your answers!
I will choose one lucky person to receive the Amazon Gift Card, bracelet (pretend it’s a snake), and bookmarks!
Thanks for stopping by!
THE WINNER (Shadow) has been notified via email! Thanks for participating everyone!

Welcome back! It sounds like you had a blast! I'm thinking we're not going to get a taste of Fall here in Seattle for another week, since Summer *just* decided to show up, this week.
As far as sweet treats, I like treating myself to a square or two of dark dark dark chocolate and just savoring it slowly as it melts in my mouth.

Sounds like you and your hubby had a terrific time. Of all the places I've visited in the US, I've never been out to New England! My mom has and loved it! One day, we will!

Wow that is a tough one to answer. I am a big fan of all sweets, too much I'm afraid. However, if I could only chose one to have it would have to be Ferro chocolates. The kind with the hazelnut filling. I rarely buy them anymore, but that is simply because my waistline would never forgive me.
So happy to hear about your continued progress on the Witch Avenue, and I look foward to the cover reveal in the future as well as reading it
Your vacation sounded lovely. I've always wanted to take a trip up there, but sadly I can never seem to get away. Besides after my six week adventure back home (NJ), I won't be due for another for some time. Some day, when my children are grown, I wish to travel to the historic sites of the world.
Thank you for the giveaway, the bracelet is quite lovely!

Would love to see more posts of the pictures of your trip! My husband and I took a similar trip a few years back. We flew into Boston and drove to Salem. We stayed at an amazing B&B walking distance to everything! The next day we set out to try to find where the real place the executions were held and visit Rebecca Nurse's homestead. It was quite amazing! The rest of the trip we traveled in our rented convertible up the coast line eating lobster, camping all the way to Acadia NP and crossed over on foot into Canada. We took a different way back to Boston. I am not sure I could ever see enough of that area to get my fill!
